In the Philippines the bond of family is strong – we love to help one another. This is like being a Tapster. To be a good Tapster talent alone is not enough. You have to mix it with passion. Inside my heart I had the passion for being a bartender. I am really happy because we have Pilsner Urquell in my bar. The evolution of beer culture in Singapore is very fast, people like to explore new things. I’m very proud to give them Pilsner Urquell, it’s a unique style. The appearance is stunning, especially with three fingers of foam, it can’t be copied! It hurts me to see people drink bad beer. I came second in the Singapore Tapster competition, about 10 bars entered and there were 16 people in total. This competition leads me in a way, now I’m in Plzeň! I have gained a lot of knowledge because of this experience.

If you were a beer, what beer would you be?

I’d be an unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell. It represents me. You can see the passion, smell the integrity and taste the unique characteristics – same as my values. There’s nothing else like it. It’s rare.
