“THE MORE I LEARN ABOUT THE BEER, THE MORE INTERESTED I AM ABOUT IT”

To be Tapster you also have to be someone who enjoys quality, who is interested in the why and how of things. A good beer is not only about taste but about the story and traditions. The more I learn about the beer, the more interested I am about it. Being a Tapster allows me to push the beer more – my regulars now realise the difference between standard beers and Pilsner Urquell. This beer has an astonishing colour. When I serve it right, it catch’s people’s eyes and everyone wants one. Skippergata was built from reused materials and found furniture –we wanted to be as self-sufficient and sustainable as possible. The way Pilsner Urquell uses craft techniques and quality ingredients – it’s the same philosophy for us.

If you were a beer, what beer would you be?

I’d be a Šnyt! It’s a bit different. It still has all the flavour and traditions but is more specialist. It feels like an efficient serve to me – small enough not to overwhelm you but big enough to quench your thirst.
