Tapster

“THE BEST TAPSTERS ARE PASSIONATE AND CONSISTENT; THEY POUR THE SAME WAY TIME AND TIME AGAIN; THEY LOVE THEIR BEER; AND THEY REALLY SCRUTINISE THEIR WORK.”

Only now is the importance of a Tapster in the bar starting to sink in. My colleagues now get the difference between a Tapster and a bartender – it’s such a vital role. They see my passion, my attitude, my confidence and see that I believe in the beer – people trust me and sometimes only drink beer that I’ve poured. I have many štamgasts now, some who come every day. Swedes generally know a lot about beer as we have a long history of German beers, but they are more used to dry foam. My ambition is to keep getting better, to keep my relationship with Pilsner Urquell, to teach more and ultimately to be my company’s head Tapster.

If you were a beer, what beer would you be?

I’d be a Šnyt. It has pleasant sweet tones, is fresh and tastes good – it’s my favourite pour.
